Thank you for considering a commission. These terms explain how I work and what to expect, so we're both clear from the start. Placing a commission means you agree to the points below.

Enquiries & booking

Commissions begin with the enquiry form. Once I've reviewed your details and confirmed I have availability, I'll send you a quote and a rough timeframe. Your slot is only secured once the deposit has been paid.

Payment & deposits

A deposit of [__]% is required to book your commission and start work. The remaining balance is due once the piece is complete and before it is delivered or posted.

Deposits are non-refundable once work has begun, as they cover the time and materials reserved for your piece.

Turnaround times

Turnaround times are estimates and depend on my current workload and the complexity of the piece. As a guide, most commissions take around [__] weeks from the date the deposit is received. I'll always keep you updated if timings change.

Approval & adjustments

I'll share progress updates as your piece develops. You're welcome to request reasonable adjustments before the work is finished. Larger changes, or changes to the brief once work is underway, may affect the price and timeframe, and I'll always agree these with you first.

Copyright & usage

I retain copyright of all artwork I create. Unless we agree otherwise, I may share images of the finished piece on my website and social media. You are welcome to display and enjoy your commission, but the artwork may not be reproduced or sold commercially without my permission.

Postage & delivery

Finished pieces can be collected or posted. Postage and packaging are charged at cost. I recommend tracked postage, and once your piece has been dispatched, responsibility for it passes to you. I package everything carefully, but I can't be held liable for damage or loss in transit.

Cancellations & refunds

If you need to cancel before work has begun, your deposit is non-refundable but no further charge applies. Once work is underway, the deposit and any costs incurred up to that point are non-refundable.

Because commissions are made to order and personalised to you, they are exempt from the standard 14-day cancellation right that applies to off-the-shelf purchases.
